FAQS

Q. Can you come and look at my garden ?
My Answer: As you can imagine I get many, many calls asking this question. That's why it is number 1. On top of my work, if I went to see all the gardens I am invited to 'look' at, with the possibility of working on, I would be worn out within a short time ! If clients are unsure of how they wish to proceed with their garden, I normally suggest they book a short session ( 3 hours - my minimum time - cost £100). If you are in doubt email me.

Q. Who pays for the CONGESTION CHARGE ?
My Answer: If I have to pass through the CC zone to get to you. Or enter the zone in the course of the job, the client is responsible for the charge. I will make the payment.

Q. I don't know how big my garden is ... or what to do with it ...
can you give me a quote ?

My Answer:
You book an initial session, not only can we get some work started on your garden, we can also create a plan and estimate the time and costs involved. Please have a good idea of the size of your garden. 'Small' ... 'Medium' ... 'Large' ... 'Regular' ... don't mean that much over the phone. It is not viable for me to provide an entirely free estimate service.

Q. I need some ideas ... a redesign ... can you help?
My Answer:
'Yes' ... within reason. I prefer to hear your ideas and then provide options. My ideas are essential to my service and are not given freely. If you engage honestly then you will discover that a visit from me will include a combination of consultation, planning and (limited) immediate work. ( 3 hours - my minimum time - cost £100)

Q. Can I book you for an hour or two ?
My Answer:
It is simply not practical to go around London working for an hour or two here and there. You need to book a short or full session. If you have a specific requirement ... please contact me.

Q. What about Parking ?
My Answer:
Parking is a variable problem across London. Parking arrangements and cost are the responsibility of the client.

Q. Do I have to book you on a regular basis ?
My Answer:
I will come and work on your garden when you call me. The frequency of visits is entirely up to the client.

Q. Do you do the gardening ? How many of you are there ?
My Answer:
I am the lead gardener/plantsman. For efficiency and effectiveness I normally have an assistant plantsman. Depending on what is required.

Q. What is a half day / short session ?
My Answer:
In a short session we spend up to 3 hours working on the garden and then remove up to 10 bags of rubbish. If there is not 3 hours work we leave when we have finished the tasks asked of us. If there is more than 3 hours we will let you know before we start and you can prioritise our work.

Q. What is a full day / full session ?
My Answer:
In a full session we can spend up to 6 hours working on the garden and then remove up to 15 bags of rubbish. As above we work as directed ... as hard as we can ... we work out the priorities/possibilities jointly.

Q. Do you have your own tools ?
My Answer:
I have most tools required for gardening. If you have an unusual or specific job ... tell me about it and I will know if I have the right tools.

Q Do you have a large van or a truck ?
My Answer:
'No'. I have a working car which can transport me and my tools and up to 10 bags of rubbish. This has proved most efficient for
the gardens I service.
